SOAP 12/26/2011; Psalm 119:116

Today's reading: Psalm 117; Psalm 119:81-176; 2 John 1; 3 John 1

S) "116 Sustain me according to Your word, that I may live;
And do not let me be ashamed of my hope.
"

Psalm 119:116 (NASB)

O) Sometimes it's easy for the enemy or the world to make us feel embarrassed of our faith in the Lord. They will make it seem silly, childish, hollow, or otherwise false. Ultimately, though, we have good reason to hope. Our hope is firmly established in the testimony of His word.

A) One of the effects I desired when I started to journal everyday, was to build up my boldness in the gospel. I want to be very transparent with my hope, so that the hopeless can see His light. Establishing myself in His word will secure my hope and remove any doubt. satan will not be able to sway me and the ridicule of this world will not hold me back. This verse will be my common prayer.

P) Father, sustain me according to Your word, that I may live; And do not let me be ashamed of my hope. Holy Spirit, sew this word in my heart as seed, and let it bear fruit in my life. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
